ASTM A53 seamless steel pipe is intended for mechanical and low-pressure applications and is also acceptable for ordinary uses in steam, water, gas and air lines. A53 carbon seamless tube is suitable for welding and for forming operations involving coiling, bending, and flanging, subject to certain qualifications. The size range of ASTM A53/ASME SA 53 carbon seamless pipe/SMLS tube is 1/4 to 26 inch and sch10 to sch160. A53 carbon seamless pipes can be welded, flanged and formed as required.
